Travelport Car & Hotel Content Files - Relaunch (reminder!)

Overview PA 1391 - version 02

Issue History: Version 01 – Issued 27-Feb-12
Reason For Issuing version 02: Reminder of August 1 deadline for obtaining access to content from the new site

Galileo / Apollo customers currently access the content files via the Application Interface Solutions (AIS) software developer site. With this relaunch, effective June 1, 2012, Galileo / Apollo customers will no longer have access to the content files via the AIS site. If Galileo / Apollo customers want to continue to access the content files, the customer will need to contact their Account Manager, discuss the new pricing structure, and sign the Car and Hotel Database Addendum for access to the files from their new secured location.

Beginning March 1, 2012, customers have 90 days to contact their Account Manager regarding the steps described above in order to retain/obtain access to the content files from their new location in advance of June 1 when access from the existing location will be discontinued.

Worldspan customers currently accessing the content files will have no changes. In the future if Worldspan customers want access to additional content, the customer should contact their Account Manager, discuss the new pricing structure, and sign the Car and Hotel Database Addendum.

The customer examples section has a list of the car and hotel content files. This relaunch does include a new car and a new hotel geocoding (latitude / longitude) content file.

As part of this relaunch, there is a new content pricing structure. Details regarding the pricing should be discussed with the customers’ Travelport Account Manager.

Customer Benefit

  • Travelport’s content files provide customers with the ability to locally store static information for fast presentation to the customer’s point of sale.
  • This reduces response times for subsequent message requests and ensures users are focused on making bookings.
  • Storing content which changes infrequently locally, ensures that costs are kept to a minimum by reducing the number of times the information needs to be retrieved from the host GDS.
  • All content data is formatted, allowing for direct upload without the need of manual intervention. Data is updated weekly so customers can be assured their content is kept current.
  • Secured access via an FTP server allows customers to access the data whenever they want to refresh their content. Customers will also see the convenience of accessing their content from one source.
