Elimination of Galileo™ Fare Guarantee for Europe (updated)

06.07.2012

Overview PA 1408 - version 02

Reason For Issuing version 02: Clarification that 4 countries: French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion (includes Île Europa) and Russia are to be removed from 7-day fare guarantee.
Issue History: Version 01 – Issued – 04-Mar-12

Currently, Galileo applies a 7-day Fare Guarantee to applicable fare quotations for most carriers within IATA Europe.

This enhancement will amend the 7-day Fare Guarantee policy for all Galileo subscribers with a point of sale in Europe. All carriers’ fare quotes, previously guaranteed for up to 7 days, will instead be valid until 23:59 hours local time on the date of the quotation.

Galileo defined European countries include, Andorra, Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Belarus, Switzerland, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, France,
Germany, Denmark, Algeria, Estonia, Spain (including the Canary Islands), Finland, United Kingdom,
Georgia, Gibraltar, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania,
Luxembourg, Latvia, Morocco, Monaco, Moldova, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal
(including the Azores and Madeira), Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, San Marino, Turkey, Tunisia,
the former Yugoslavia, Ukraine, French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion (includes Île Europa) and Russia.

As per current Galileo logic, PNR creation date is displayed as the GMT date. Fare quote time limit will be determined based upon the point of sale location, but will display in GMT. Fare quotes that expire at 23:59 hours on day of quotation will have to be repriced at current fares.

All ‘G’ (Public auto-priced), ‘A’ (Airline Private auto-priced) and ‘Z’ (Agency Private Fares calculated contracts that have no rule overrides applied) FCI status fares including instant purchase and those with advance reservation/ticketing restrictions, transmitting IATA FCMI ’0’, will be changed to status ‘X’ if not ticketed by the guarantee expiry time limit.

Due to the static nature of a Galileo Filed Fare, if the 7-day guarantee was in place when the fare was filed, it would remain in place until the Filed Fare expired or was ticketed. This change will impact only newly priced PNRs after development is loaded and activated.

This change does not affect the validation of advance reservation/ticketing limits filed by the Airline in the Automated Rules.
