Worldspan - Fare Type in Fare Display Rules Follow-on

29.05.2012

Overview PA 1487 - version 01

ATPCO and SITA fare filing logic requires Display Category Type (e.g., Normal, Special, Excursion, etc.) and Fare Type (e.g., Special Instant Purchase, Super Advance Purchase, etc.) values for every published fare. Additionally, an airline vendor may file a Passenger Type Code (PTC) to restrict eligibility of a fare to a particular passenger type. There is no defined relationship between, Display Category or Fare Type and Passenger Type. Airline vendors may file similar fares with different values, leading to inconsistent fare types being shown in the Worldspan™ fare display Rules follow-on.

In order to reduce these inconsistencies, Travelport 360 Fares validates the ATPCO fare type filed by the airline vendor and maps that fare type to a Travelport 360 Fares fare type grouping which aligns with the ATPCO Fare Type Matrix. This is the fare type that will be displayed in the Mini-Rule follow-on. This logic applies to the fare display Rules follow-on only. There is no impact to fare pricing.
