Worldspan - Single Pricing: Confirmed load dates! Ship’s Crew Discount for Fare Display

07.11.2011

Overview PA 1219 - version 02

Issue History: Version 01 – Issued 13-Jul-11
Reason For Issuing version 02: Confirmed load dates

The IATA resolution regarding the establishment of Ship's Crew fares allows for a 25 percent discount on one way, normal, economy fares in many (but not all) markets worldwide.

There are three ways Ship's Crew fares are established for fare display in the Worldspan system:

  • Published Ship’s Crew fares and fares that permit a Ship’s Crew discount in Category 22 – Other Discounts are retrieved by a fare display request including Passenger Type Code ‘SEA’.
No change is being made to this functionality.

  • One way, normal, economy fares can be discounted with a system stored ticket designator of SCXX (where ‘XX’ is a valid two-letter country code). ‘XX’ is validated against an internal Worldspan table which applies the appropriate discount for that country.
This functionality is being discontinued. An error message will be returned when the SCXX system stored ticket
designator is included in a fare display request.
  • One way, normal, economy fares can be discounted with a system stored ticket designator of SCNN (where ‘NN’ is a percentage value of 15, 25, 35, or 40).
The options to discount by a value of 15, 35, or 40 percent are being discontinued. ‘25’ will be the only valid
             percentage value.
An error message will be returned when SC15, SC35, or SC40 are included in a fare display
             request.

Customer Benefit

Fare display requests will provide Ship’s Crew discounts that reflect the airline agreed industry solution defined by IATA and individual airline intent.
