10.11.2011

Overview PA 1233 - version 02

Issue History: Version 01 - Issued 13-Jul-11
Reason For Issuing version 02: Confirmed load dates

Power Tax Quote is a process driven by inputting a linear format beginning with ‘4I’ and containing components needed for the system to process and return a tax-only breakdown for each Passenger Type Code (PTC) specified in the request message.

The Power Tax Quote allows for multiple PTC types, stopovers, fare breaks, open jaws, mixed fare classes in the tax calculation breakdown.

Currently, when no taxes are applied, the Power Tax Quote response includes a tax line with zero amounts shown. The new tax quote response will no longer include a tax line on a pricing response when no taxes are applied.

This generally occurs when the itinerary is priced with an Infant PTC. Infants are exempt from many published taxes.

This will be the case whether the infant tax is quoted along with the other accompanying passengers or quoted as a stand-alone passenger when the accompanying adult is included in the same quote.

Customer Benefit

Only taxes that have actually been applied will be displayed in the tax line of the Power Tax Quote.
